The National Defence Academy (NDA) exam is conducted by UPSC twice a year. It is the gateway for candidates aspiring to join the Army, Navy, and Air Force as commissioned officers. Selected candidates train at NDA, then pre-commission at IMA, INA or Air Force Academy.

Physics & Mathematics mandatory for Air Force & Navy.
Paper 1: Maths (300) – Algebra, Calculus, Vectors. Paper 2: GAT (600) – English (200) + GK (400).
5‑day process: Screening, Psychological Tests, GTO, Interview, Conference.
Strict Armed Forces standards: height, weight, eyesight, fitness.
4-Year Foundation (after Class 8)
Regular schooling + NDA syllabus + SSB foundation + physical training.
2-Year Integrated (after Class 10)
Schooling + NDA prep + early SSB + disciplined environment.
